MORGAN DUNN CO · CRISIS COMMS & RESILIENCE
Know what you'd say, who would make decisions, and what happens next, before you need to.
I'm Morgan, an Emergency Manager turned crisis comms and resilience advisor. I help business owners and everyday people get ready for what's ahead, the good and the bad.
FIELD NOTE 01 · WHY THIS EXISTS
I've spent years in emergency management and almost fifteen in communications, from public warnings and major incidents to crisis comms for Fortune 500 companies. The people who handle the hard days well aren't the luckiest ones. They're the ones who worked out the answers on when it’s calm.
That's what I help you do. It might be clearer communication with your team and customers, systems that keep running without you, a launch that needs to go off without a hitch, or a plan for the day something goes badly wrong. Same thinking, every time.
FIELD NOTE 02 · SOUND FAMILIAR?
Problems I love to solve
01
It all lives in your head.
If you got sick tomorrow, nobody would know where anything is.
02
The 11pm reply.
Something blows up online and you're drafting a public response on your phone in bed.
03
We’ll wing it.
That's the whole plan for a flood, a fire or a fortnight in hospital.
04
No plan B.
A big launch or event, and everything rides on it going exactly right.
05
Comms on the fly.
Your team hears about changes after your customers do.
06
Who's actually making the decisions in a crisis?
When it gets messy, everyone looks at you.
FIELD NOTE 03 · THE METHOD
Three things that decide how the hard days go
The words
Know what to say when it goes wrong in public. We write your holding statements and comms plan now, so you're not starting from a blank page in the middle of it.
The business
Keep running when you can't open or can't show up. We get what lives in your head onto paper and work out what happens next when the normal plan stops working.
You, under pressure
In a crisis, the owner becomes the person in charge whether they like it or not. I'll show you how people who do this for a living keep their heads, sort what matters from the noise, and lead a team through it.

FIELD NOTE 05 · WHAT I’M NOT
No hundred-page binders.
No fearmongering.
No empty promises.
No death by powerpoint.
I've seen enough real emergencies to know that scaring people doesn't make them ready. Calm, practical planning does. And it's a lot more fun with someone who's done it for real.
Hi, I’m Morgan.
FIELD NOTE 06 · WHO YOU’D BE CALLING
I've worked in crisis communications and disaster and emergency management for more than a decade. I've written the public warnings that tell people a fire or flood is on its way, handled communications during bushfires, led state disaster volunteer teams, and worked on the response to some of Queensland's biggest disasters.
I've written many of the plans and procedures other emergency managers work from, so I know the difference between a plan that looks good in a drawer and one that holds up on the day. And I founded Disaster Scout, which brings Australia's emergency warnings into one place.
What all of that taught me is that the organisations that cope best aren't the ones with the thickest plan. They're the ones who know what they'd say, who'd decide and what happens next, and who've practised it before the day arrives.
That's what I help business owners build. No fearmongering, no binder that lives in a drawer, and no motivational performance. Just a sharp outside eye from someone who's seen how bad weeks really go, and the willingness to stay close enough to help you get ready for yours.

The Bad Week Brief
What would actually happen to your business on its worst week?
Not the dramatic movie version. The realistic one. A storm rolls through, and the power's out for two days. A customer posts something unflattering that won't stop spreading. Then you come down with something and can't get out of bed.
In this free one-hour session, I'll walk you through a bad week as it unfolds, the way emergency services train for the real thing. At each step, you'll answer honestly: what would you do, who would you call, and what would you say?
